Diverti-miento is a daring duo for trombone and piano, written for Jorge Felipe and Peiyun Xue, both friends and mates in Conservatorium Maastricht (The Netherlands).
The piece is structured in one movement, where the trombone, main character, bids a speech full of melodies with big mood changes, going from rudest energy to tender sweetness, from playful irony to the most honest passion.
The harmony, yet tonal, is treated very freely and chromatically, featuring the interval of fourth. In melodies predominates the 7/8 pulse, giving then to the piece a very characteristic groove. The result is a fresh, young and eclectic score.

Diverti-miento es un atrevido dúo para trombón y piano, escrito para Jorge Felipe y Peiyun Xue, ambos amigos y compañeros en el Maastricht Conservatorium (Países Bajos).
La pieza se estructura en un movimiento, donde el trombón, personaje principal, ofrece un discurso lleno de melodías con grandes cambios de humor, yendo de la energía más ruda a la tierna dulzura, de la ironía juguetona a la pasión más honesta.
La armonía, aunque tonal, está tratada manera muy libre y cromática, destacando el intervalo de cuarta. En las melodías predomina el pulso de 7/8, dando a la pieza un groove muy característico. El resultado es una partitura fresca, joven y ecléctica.
